Certificates of Analysis

What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

A COA is a document issued that confirms that a regulated product meets its product specification. They commonly contain the actual results obtained from testing performed as part of quality control of an individual batch of a product. At The Leaf Co, all of our products are independently tested by leading CBD labs and we mainly use a leading UK CBD lab, PHYTOVISTA. This ensures that all of our products have the content of CBD that we say they have and provides our resellers and end-customers with the evidence that our products are what we say they are.

Why is asking for a COA important?

The CBD industry has exploded over recent years with a lot of companies in the market making lots of claims about the CBD content their products have. It is critical that consumers ask for proof by way of a Certificate of Analysis (COA) as this protects the consumer from products that may not be what they say they are. With so many vendors of CBD in the market, you need to make sure you are buying a reputable product and a COA from an independent lab is one of the best ways to do this.

Phytovista Labs

As already mentioned, it’s critical that the COA you receive is from an independent lab. We use one of the leading UK labs, Phytovista to test all of our products. Along with their state-of-the-art custom-built facilities, they have a broad range of expertise and skills to deliver accurate results. As standard, they test for 14 cannabinoids – CBC, CBCA, CBD, CBDA, CBDV, CBDVA, CBG, CBGA, CBN, d8-THC, d9-THC, THCA, THCVA and THCV and they are experts in chemical testing services including composition, trace contaminant determination, metals analysis, identification of unknown components and compliance testing. This broad range of testing ensures all of our products are tested, analyzed and verified for both their cannabinoid ratio and microbiological adequacy, and ensures our products do not contain parabens or any artificial dyes, scents, and are free of toxins and heavy metals. This also means that our products are suitable for vegans, gluten-free and GMO free.
